You're too advanced, or this topic is too advanced, is a silencing tactic in conservative environments wherein the argument or implication is used to rule out the topic or rhetorics in question too "advanced" for their own or their presumed intellectual capacity of the environment, and thus inaproppriate.

Examples:

Nice egalitarian ideas may not be discussed by people simply because an influential section of people are bigoted and conservative, by stating that "You're too advanced (and that we want to rot in hell)".
