Context and motivations | As part of AWID Forum in Brazil this was developed in partnership with ARROW (an SRHR and gender rights policy advocacy organization working in Asia-Pacific).
A panel discussion which presented different perspectives on thinking through how big data shapes knowledge, and suggests prediction, in constructing and addressing 'development'. Maya presented an overview of the topic and area, gave examples from UN adoption of big data technologies. Mangala spoke frm the perspective of implementing organisations like Arrow, and Yiping spoke from the perspective of projects in China and how to think about the role of government, and what accountability means in the context of big data. |
