Sandpaper feminism describes something that I've often observed, but never had a name for.  Please do not delete.

Courtney Stanton is an obvious vandal article. 107.199.217.207 00:37, September 22, 2013 (UTC)

Men's Rights Advocacy

Somebody added the delete tag to men's rights advocacy after rewriting it to stereotype the entire movement based a vocal minority using it as a cover for their misogyny. I think it's important to both keep the article (quite a few people involved in incidents identify with this movement) and keep the distinction between actual activists vs. false flag anti-feminists. 107.199.217.207 04:48, September 22, 2013 (UTC)

It's not the "vocal minority". It's not even a movement. It's a few online dens of extrememly ill-informed misogynists whom engage in little to no activism beyond harrassing women, spreading misinformation about feminism, and promoting rape culture and false rape accusation theories. If the page is going to remain on the geek feminism wikia (and I don't see why it should), it should focus on what MRAs are known best for within geek feminism. Namely, harrasssment and vlogging against geek women and geek feminists. There is no shortage of examples to choose from. Any actual activism they may (but usually don't) participate in is never pro-woman or pro-feminism, and feminist gains will never be made by treating the MRM as if it has any real legitimacy. It doesn't. Any equality feminists achieve will happen despite the MRM, not because any help from it. I also dismiss this notion that a space meant for educating about feminism needs to give any mention to groups wishing to dismantle feminism from a place of privileged oppressiveness. This is a feminist wiki, to be written through a feminist lens. 24.18.223.64 05:21, September 22, 2013 (UTC)
In my opinion, MRAs have enough influence in technology that the article should stay on the wiki. It certainly needs work, but I agree with 24.18.223.64 that the perspective is right. Monadic (talk) 05:34, October 24, 2013 (UTC)
