Technical events
General funds
- Linux Foundation travel fund for open source developers attending technical conferences
- Python Software Foundation grants, designed more to bring people to an Python event you are organising (or otherwise fund it)
- Linux Australia grants scheme, for members of Linux Australia (usually Australians and New Zealanders), has been used for conference travel at times
- The Kapor Center says "We also offer tech scholarships for mission-aligned conference organizers to diversify conference attendance."

- PyCon US 2014 (Montreal) financial assistance closed Jan 2014
- FOSDEM 2014 (Brussels) - "All volunteers and community members who are official speakers in the by Mozilla DevRoom and Mozilla volunteers helping with our participation at the event will be eligible for sponsorship."
- LibrePlanet 2014 (Cambridge, MA) - "We are offering a limited number of travel scholarships to assist with expenses related to attending LibrePlanet 2014." Applications were due in January 2014.
- Grace Hopper Conference Scholarship Grants was open in January 2014, expected to run again in 2015.
