In 2010, it was announced that Elizabeth Moon would be a guest of honour at WisCon 35 in May 2011.
On September 11, 2010. Moon published Islamophobic commentary on her blog. After several weeks of commentary and criticism, on October 21, SF3 (the parent body of WisCon) announced they had withdrawn her invitation.
