A woman that brings up issues of sexism or other forms of oppression may be advised to pick her battles as a silencing tactic. This relies on the same sort of basic assumptions behind Angry feminist mob in that it is an overreaction to feminist criticism. It predicts a flurry of indiscriminate "battles" based on one incident of criticism and relies on the stale stereotype of activists as being aggressive and unreasonable.
This tactic downplays the achievements of modern feminism, as it takes productive qualities like cooperation and teamwork to perform anti-oppression work alongside other groups (See: Intersectionality), whether or not the work is done in the physical company of others or in isolation.
