It is probably worth noting that it's not only women who get this sort of reaction, it's any 'whistleblower'. I'm pretty sure the guys who spoke out against the EMACS Virgins stuff copped it, for example. http://opensourcetogo.blogspot.com/2009/07/good-gcds-beginning-with-significant.html?showComment=1246983203822#c9076906386919614093 for example is all I can find right now. Too tired to reword the page now, though. Elky 12:23, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

As a general question, I'm not sure how much we want to hedge with "this may happen to men too!" I mean, it's true, but this wiki isn't about men's experience's to me, not even allies' experiences, except on pages we've set aside for it. I guess on silencing tactics, we could say "feminists" rather than "women" where it's relevant. Thayvian 22:11, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
"Feminists" would be more appropriate, and less exclusionary. It's criticism of all feminists who speak up, be they women or allies.Elky 00:47, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
