I'd like to suggest a little change in this sentence:

Such criticisms are also frequently used to blame women for rape.

As it is, it sounds like women are blamed for raping someone if they wear revealing clothes, and like a woman can never actually commit rape (and then be blamed for a real offense). So I think it would be better formulated this way:

Such criticisms are also frequently used to blame women for being raped.
