On Christmas Day 2011 Lunam, a 15 year old girl, posted to r/Atheism a picture of herself smiling with a Carl Sagan book and the caption, "What my super religious mother got me for Christmas...". (r/atheism or rAtheism is a section of Reddit devoted to atheism.) The thread prompted a number of blog responses as many redditors focused on her looks and made sexual and rape related comments.
Rebecca Watson responded, "Reddit makes me hate atheists".
