On 17 April 2012 York Butter Factory tweeted: "Techs are the pussy of the start-up scene, fill the club with them and the business guys will follow. Got tech chops? @YorkButter wants you!"
They soon deleted the original tweet and responded: "Apology to everyone for the wayward tweet. Didn't mean to offend anyone, the employee acknowledges it was in poor taste. Thanks everyone."
They later offered a longer and arguably more sincere apology and said: "Employee has offered his resignation. I hope you forgive us if we refuse and put this down as an important learning experience for all"
