The Geek Feminism Wiki (ie, this wiki) was founded by Skud in May 2008.
Events of note
2008
- The first substantive edit to the wiki seems to have been this one on May 14 2008.
- The wiki began receiving outside publicity in July 2008, see for example the OWOOT announcement.
- The wiki passed 50 pages in July 2008 (see Special:WikiStats).
2009
- The wiki passed 100 pages in March 2009.
- One of the best known pages, Timeline of incidents, was created in May 2009.
- The Geek Feminism blog was founded in August 2009 by Skud, with an overlapping group of people contributing.
- LinuxChix miniconf became the first featured article on November 11 2009.
2010
- The wiki passed 500 pages in March 2010.
- The Conference anti-harassment policy, hosted on the wiki and since adopted by dozens of conferences, was announced on November 29 2010.
2012
- The wiki's 10000th edit occured in April 2012.
- The deletion of TV Tropes material related to rape, and subsequent import of those pages into the Geek Feminism wiki, occured in June 2012
2013
- The wiki passed 1000 pages in September 2013.
- Wiki administrators created explicit editorial guidelines in November 2013; these guidelines are still open to discussion and change.
2014
- Skud created the Resources for therapists page in June 2014.
- In June 2014, Skud gave a talk at Open Source Bridge about the history of the wiki and blog, titled "Feminist Point of View: A Geek Feminism Retrospective"; the slides are available online
