Split
Once this page takes off, we almost certainly need to split it into several lists, by subfield. Eg FLOSS, web, computer science, etc. Thayvian 01:46, September 29, 2009 (UTC)
Rename?
"Technical conferences" really means "computing conferences" here. Should we use that term or some other one instead of "technical"? I think it's an insider term and maybe a little exclusionary; if I said "technical conference" to someone outside computing (including, say, someone in engineering) I don't think they'd know that I meant "computing" and they would probably justly consider their own conferences also technical!
An alternative is expanding the list to, say, women in mathematics, engineering etc, but I think this is useful (and already very big) as a computing-focussed list and we shouldn't expand the scope of this page. Thayvian (talk) 21:39, September 21, 2016 (UTC)
